Dear RCI,
I would like to thank everyone for making this show such a memorable experience, particularly the committee and the stewards for all their hard work.I dont think some people realise all the hard work that goes into producing a successful show.A special thank you for making my daughter so welcome too.
I have judged in Italy twice before and in general the quality of goldens in Italy is very good.I was particularly impressed with the quality of the baby puppy and puppy bitches which bodes well for the future. One thing that does need watching is the layback of shoulder. Many exhibits lacked the correct length of blade, layback and upper arm angulation. This will of course affect the front movement of the dog as well as not conforming to the breed standard.
Having said that I was delighted with my placed dogs and many quality dogs were unplaced due to coat or condition. There were one or two exhibits that were reluctant to be gone over so please do some more ring training and hopefully you will overcome the problem.Thank you to all exhibitors for taking my decisions so sportingly, and I hope it wont be long before I visit your lovely country again.
